God is Good and So Are We – July 23 service

Two great spiritual leaders, one Buddhist and one

Cristian, remind us of Unity’s second Basic Belief:

Our Essence is of God; therefore, we are inherently Good.

The world is full of negativity:  despair, loneliness, envy, death. This shouldn’t blind us to the good that exists in the world and in ourselves!  When tempted to give in and give up, our best course of action is to GIVE of ourselves.

Summer of Joy- July 2 service

Spiritual giants from time immemorial have taught us the futility of chasing after the wind.  We cannot catch the wind and hold it any more than we can catch and hold joy by chasing it. In this modern day, it’s even harder to find joy when we’re bombarded by all manner of  influences designed to keep us hungering after more, more, more! The Dalai Lama and Archbishop Tutu both teach us that the outer world will not satisfy us nor bring us joy. They direct us to the inner life and inner values.  The nature of true joy is our own true nature. As we come to identify with and become one with the divinity within, joy become our true expression of life on earth.

Two Kinds of Joy- July 9 service

Two Kinds of Happiness

Our ability to enjoy life is within our control. All that  is required is to know thy self, and recognize when we engage in self-defeating  behavior. Easier said than done!
