A Message of Love- We Are the Christ!
Divine Love exists beyond form, in Being and Presence. This Christmas, as we release all identification with form, and embrace the formless, timeless dimension that already exists within us, the Christ is born anew in us. Birthing the Christ within ourselves unleashes the quality of Divine Love, which allows us recognize Being or Presence in others. This is the true meaning of love, and explains how we can love even our enemies.

Practicing Peace the Mr. Rogers Way
In spiritual circles, when we talk of peace, we usually focus on INNER PEACE. This year, the isolation of COVID and the turmoil in our cities and states has demonstrated a need for the practice of peace. Join us this Sunday as we look at some very practical ways to practice peace from an iconic good neighbor.
Scripture: I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid. John 14:27 (NLT)

– Hope and Faith
This year as we begin Advent, Unity Headquarters has added “Hope” to the traditional theme of “Faith” for our first Sunday of preparation for Christmas. Here at Unity Eastside, we’ve added our Prayer Chaplain Dedication Ceremony to this Sunday’s service. It is fitting that the themes of hope and faith are the backdrop to this ceremony. Hope is the emotion contained within faith. It allows us to believe in the unseen universe of possibilities that exist within any situation. Faith is the power that sustains us and moves us as we await the manifestation of our prayers. Together, hope and faith are the breath and bedrock of our prayer lives.
Scripture: Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1

Developing a Grateful Heart
Just like the acquisition of most virtues, you can’t instantly become thankful. You only become thankful when you habitually practice gratitude in your life.

This, Too, Shall Pass
We’re all feeling it – the edginess or uneasiness from the unsettled election. Many of us thought that once Biden was elected, the country would calm down. With the outcome still officially in doubt, this low-level anxiety is slowly being ratcheted up – and we don’t like it. We want it to go away! But we’re powerless to do anything, but wait. Since that’s the current situation, why not see this uneasiness as a wake-up call? We’re being roused out of our complacency and invited to engage with life in a different way. We could use this energy of extreme discomfort to make peace with the uncertainty of life AND to come home to ourselves as told in the story of the Prodigal Son. Woo-hoo! It’s going to be quite a ride! Buckle up!

THERE’S A REASON WE’RE IN THIS TOGETHER
The fourth of the four core values from the initiative WMTN that we will seek to embody:
“Responsible Citizenship: We will emphasize that it’s up to all of us, we-the-people, to depolarize our politics and meet our common challenges.”
It’s time for each of us to be the bigger person. Do it for one another: “As I have loved you….”
