Getting There Is Half the Fun June 20, 2021

Getting There Is Half the Fun

Before I leave home to travel by car to a new place, I open Google Maps.  I type in the destination, then hit “Directions.” After plugging in my starting point, I sit back and wait to see how many ways there are to get to my final destination.  I’ve discovered that it’s fun and interesting to choose a route that avoids the interstates as much as possible. Why?  Because getting there is half the fun!  The same is true for our spiritual journey.  What’s even better is, unlike travel in this life, there is NO destination in the spiritual life!  Join Rev. Jean this Sunday to explore the many paths we take on the road to enlightenment.

What if There is Nothing Else Here? (Special guest speaker and musician-John Stringer) June 13,2021

What If There is Nothing Else Here?

Liberation from suffering is a noble path to fulfillment and one that many choose in their journey to “spiritual enlightenment.” What if there was really nothing else here but God, as the concept of oneness represents? If that were the case, then suffering would be an illusion, yes? Join us as life teacher, healer, singer, and author, John Stringer, shares music & message to remind us of our oneness, perfection, and power.

The Filter Factor June 6, 2021

Everything that we perceive with our five senses needs to be filtered through our spiritual awareness.  This will keep us from reacting to all sorts of nonsense.  We do this by saying Yes and No appropriately to those things that feed our spiritual nature.  Most of the time, we behave as if our human nature is separate from our spiritual nature.  This parable tells us that our senses are here to lead us into the heaven of greater spiritual awareness, instead of dragging us into the hell of earthly confusion. 5 loaves = 5 senses. 2 fishes = the Divine Ideas of “yes and no”

Being Right with What’s Wrong May 30, 2021

Being Right with What’s Wrong

Things are supposed to go wrong in this life.  Rather than get lost in the wonderful communal exercise of expressing our woes and wallowing in the negative, our aim as spiritually evolving creatures is to use what’s wrong to get right with higher consciousness.  Remember, we are all sleepwalking through life.  We’re sleepwalking because we believe that the form identity, the mind-made self, is WHO WE REALLY ARE.  The more we can separate from our false identity, the more peace we can have and the better our lessons are when things go wrong.

To Mask or Not to Mask? Sunday May 23, 2021

To Mask Or Not to Mask

If you’ve been paying attention, the CDC has removed the mask mandate. We can now choose to go about without a mask! This sudden policy change has caused some consternation, which Rachel Maddow expressed so delightfully. She said that she’s going to have to re-wire her brain. She’s gotten so used to thinking of unmasked people as a threat that now she will have to train herself to not react with alarm. But guess what?

For us humans, wearing a mask is not optional. We’re all wearing a mask. Psychologically, wearing a mask is one of the laws of human behavior. Spiritually, becoming aware of this mask is the way to peace. It’s a matter of choosing to witness this developmental fixture rather than claim it as Who We Really Are. After a year of hiding, are you ready to come out from behind your mask?

God’s Amazing Grace May 2, 2021

“Amazing Grace” is a popular hymn that many people sing in churches worldwide. It begins with the famous opening line “Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me.” During everyday life, do we fully receive God’s grace that we so passionately sing about?

Grace is a free gift given to all. Despite our error thinking, God’s grace and favor is available. Why is it important to receive God’s grace and view it as the amazing gift it is? It is important because it allows us to live and walk in a state of continual humility and repentance. God’s grace provides us hope that there is forgiveness and redemption for our error thinking, and that each day is another opportunity to extend that same grace to others.

Grace is not given to a select few, but to all. Whatever season or situation you may currently be facing, God’s grace is available to you.
