Making Peace with Discomfort October 3, 2021

Would your life be better if you were less reactive to people in your life or to  events happening around you?  What if no one and nothing got under your skin?  Or if they did, the discomfort didn’t last long?  Mary O’Malley offers us a practice she calls the “you-turn.”  Through this practice, we’re invited to take a look inside ourselves to determine the real cause of our discomfort, which is most often an ingrained way of thinking about whatever is showing up.  When we make friends with discomfort, we realize it is a doorway into what Jesus called the “kingdom of heaven” right here on earth.  Are you curious?  Join us on Sunday, October 3, 2021, at 10:30 AM in the sanctuary or LIVE of Facebook.

The Healing Power of Curiosity September 26, 2021

This week, we learn how deep healing can occur when we develop the art of curiosity.  Curiosity takes us out of the struggles and addictions of the thoughts, feelings, and sensations we usually try to control or fix.  It guides us to be the Observer Within.  The Observer Within notices that our sense of self is trapped in the emotions of the many spells or beliefs we have about Life.   When we get outside the mind-made self, we discover that we are not separate from Life itself.  In fact, we find out that we are Life Itself having a human experience.  Our experience of Life can be JOYFUL as we learn how to be with what is in an open, receptive way.  Being curious is the first step!

Join Rev. Jean on September 26, 2021, at 10:30 AM for the fourth talk in her series based on Mary O’Malley’s book, What’s in the Way IS the Way.

Fear- It’s Nothing to be Afraid Of- September 12, 2021

We have all been conditioned to fear many aspects of life.  Fear disconnects us from the meadow – that sense of well-being that is within us.  In this week’s lesson, we learn how to treat fear like any other emotion.  It just wants to be seen, recognized, welcomed, and touched by our own heart energy.  This idea resonates with the Course in Miracles:  Everything is love or a cry for love.   As we learn how to bring attentive awareness to our fears, they dissipate.  We can then return to the meadow, our center of well-being, where we experience the truth of our lives – All is well.  Experience the transformative power of noticing this Sunday, September 12, 2021 at 10:30 AM.

Getting to Know the Meadow September 5, 2021

This week we delve into what Mary O’Malley calls “the meadow.”   This is the ever-present place of spaciousness and openness that is the center of well-being within us.  This sense of well-being is constantly bombarded by the stories we make up in our minds.  Mary shares five qualities of the meadow that are at the core of who we really are. She points out how to recognize them to discover the joy of living from that sense of well-being instead of struggling with everything that shows up in life.  Those qualities are flow, spaciousness, light, love, and stillness.  If you’re ready to move into the meadow of Life,  join Rev. Jean on Sunday, September 5, 2021, at 10:30 AM

It’s All Okay – It’s Truly Okay August 29, 2021

“The mind is a wonderful servant, but a terrible master.”   Robin Sharma

Taking this quote to its ultimate, Mary O’Malley created an easy, compassionate guide to releasing the mind’s death grip on our lives.  This week we begin What’s in the Way IS the Way by O’Malley.  For the next 10 weeks, we will continue to deepen our understanding of the nature of Life and how we can best relate to it.  In the opening chapter, we will understand we have the ability to see life differently.  Life becomes a series of events that are happening FOR us not TO us. By ceasing to struggle with “what is,” we open ourselves to the lessons that challenge and prepare us for the spiritual transformation we seek.  Rather than struggling with what’s showing up, we allow it to be without becoming entangled in IT.  That is the essence of the practice: What’s is in the way IS the way! Join Rev. Jean as she leads us through the minefield of the MIND and back into the serene MEADOW of our True Nature.

Are You Ready for Change? August 22,2021

We have one more lesson to learn from Turtle:  Life is fuller living right side up, even if it means being upside down for a while.  What’s the most important lesson we’ve learned from Turtle? Change!  Are you ready to commit to a few simple changes to make your life experience richer, fuller, more alive?

The Gift of Friends August 15, 2021

It’s the last talk in our summer series based on Lessons of the Turtle by Steve Goodier.  Finally, Turtle is going to get help turning right side up.  That help comes in the form of friends.  Among other things, friends remind us that we are not alone.  We are not islands! Our lives involve other people. There is always an inner-connectedness with all of life. We may appear to be separate, we may appear to be individual islands in a vast sea, but that is an illusion. We are all one. There is something unseen beyond the physical that connects us all.  What lesson do you think comes with the Gift of Friends?  Join Rev. Jean on Facebook LIVE to find out at 10:30 AM Sunday, August 15, 2021.

The Gift of the Mountain August 8, 2021

The Gift of the Mountain

Turtle had never seen the top of a mountain until he lay upside down for a long time.  He would never have thought about climbing it if he’d seen what a long way up it was to the top.  That’s true for us as well.  We sometimes envision a goal that is so far away we end us discouraged before we even start.  The gift of the mountain is the lesson of goals.  Whatever we choose to achieve, five guidelines will make the journey easier and more enjoyable.   Join Rev. Jean as she explains how to use these guidelines to reach your spiritual goals.

“Goals are not meant to be a plumb line to determine the shortest distance to success, but rather a compass to give a sense of direction.”  Caroline Franklin

The Gift of the Butterfly is NOW! August 1, 2021

The Gift of the Butterfly is NOW!
In Week 4 of our summer series based on Lessons of the Turtle, Living Right Side Up by Steve Goodier, we meet a delightful newcomer. Butterfly lands on Turtle’s nose as he lays upside down on his back. Butterfly doesn’t stay long because her time on earth is short. As we’ve come to expect, Owl explains why this is so. Owl introduces Turtle to the gift of living in the NOW that Butterfly brings. Because her life on earth is so short, time means nothing to Butterfly. Imagine how it would be if you could be free of the tyranny of time! Rev. Jean shares a few ideas about becoming free of time this Sunday at 10:30 AM. Join her in person or on Facebook. There’s no time like the Present!
